"Taking Off the Training Wheels: Successfully Training Writing Tutors": Every writing center relies on the hearts and minds of tutors to hold its structure from collapsing. Our presentation introduces various techniques to improve the training of incoming tutors. By providing an example video and a practice tutoring exercise, we will engage attendees and help tutors find their voice for future success. /// "Performance Enhancement: Taking an Unstandardized Approach to Standardized Testing": This presentation will convey our program to assist students through an extension of the writing center dedicated to writing test preparation. This will provide opportunities to practice writing tests and receive feedback from tutors. It will also allow tutors to collaborate with more teachers and students within our school community.
